Nayak Raj Razzak will receive Fazlul Haque memorial award along with film journalist Rezanur Rahman this year. Fazlul Haque was the pioneer of film journalism in the country; he was also the editor of first film magazine of the country ‘Cinema’. He directed the first juvenile film (President) of the country. He was born on the 26th May, 1930 in an aristocrat family Bogra. He died on 26th October, 1990.
From the year 2004 Fazlul Haque memorial committee is awarding Fazlul Haque memorial award to two personalities every year. This year’s award giving ceremony will be held tomorrow. This award includes twenty five thousand taka, a certificate and a crest. Renowned writer Rabeya Khatun who is also Fazlul Haque’s wife is sponsoring the award. Fazlul Haque’s eldest son Faridur Reza Sagor is a prominent children’s writer, TV personality and managing director of private sector TV channel, Channel i.
Abdur Razzak who is known as Nayak Raj Razzak was born in Kolkata, but migrated to then East Pakistan in 1964. Did news reading job for TV, acted for Pakistani TV series and finally was debuted to film by Zahir Rayhan’s Behula in 1966. He acted in about three hundred films and he is considered as the most popular film actor of his time.
