Dhaka‘s LabAid hospital is one of largest private hospitals in Bangladesh. But Mostafizur Rahman Masum who is a fourth year student of Dhaka University is a victim of wrong treatment by the hospital. Dr. Amjad Hussain did an operation on that student’s heel to remove a tumor. He didn’t check biopsy report well and diagnosed the disease as Xanthoma. Actually that tumor was cancerous and now it has spread all over his body. Indian doctors said, there is no hope at this late stage.
His classmates staged an angry demonstration in front of LabAid hospital last week. They demanded punishment of Dr. Amjad Hossain and compensation.
After a meeting with the vice chancellor of Dhaka University LabAid authority has admitted their fault and agreed to bear the treatment cost. The student will be sent to Singapore for better treatment. If there is no hope, the hospital will pay compensation.
Few days ago another man, who is a Union parishad chairman brought allegation that he was a victim of wrong treatment by Apollo Hospital Dhaka.
