Palestinian officials said the Israeli army killed two Palestinians in a West Bank raid on Monday, as it demolished the homes of two Palestinians accused of killing an Israeli soldier.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced the deaths of “Mohammed Samir Hosheh, 22, after being shot in the chest, and Fuad Mohammed Abed, 25, after being shot in the abdomen and thigh” during a raid by Israeli forces near Jenin.

The Israeli army said that Israeli troops had entered the village of Kafr Dan to demolish the residences of attackers involved in the shooting near the Gilboa (Zalme) crossing, in which Major Bar Falah was killed.

Shortly after sunrise on Monday, a plume of smoke enveloped the small village as two houses were detonated explosives.

The army later said that a “violent riot was incited” when the army entered the village.

“The rioters burnt tyres, fired live fire and threw stones, Molotov cocktails and explosive devices at the forces, who responded with riot gear and live fire,” the statement said. “Hits have been identified,” it added.
