BNP’s ally Jatiyatabadi Krishak Dal organized a rally in the Naya Paltan area of the capital on Monday demanding the resignation of the government and the release of party chief Begum Khaleda Zia.
The Manikganj district unit of BNP hired about 35 buses, including 15 buses of Shubhojatra Paribahan, to take leaders and workers to Dhaka.
During the spot visit on Tuesday at 12:00 noon, around 10 to 12 Shubhojatra transport buses were seen parked at Manikganj Central Bus Terminal.
Speaking on condition of anonymity, some drivers and owners alleged that keys and registration papers were forcibly seized from the buses as the vehicles were carrying BNP people for the rally in Dhaka.
