“Paharpur may be removed from UNESCO list if buildings are constructed near it”

In violation of the law, a multi-storey building is being constructed in Nagaon with the support of the wall of Paharpur Buddhist Monastery, a UNESCO recognized World Heritage Site. The one-storey Malancha Government Primary School, located next to Paharpur Satyapir Bhita, is being expanded from the second floor. This may lead to Paharpur being removed from the UNESCO World Heritage List. Prothom Alo spoke to Muhammad Fazlul Karim, the custodian of the Paharpur Math Museum, about the matter.
