Locals of Rajegaon of Hatia upazila in Noakhali yesterday recovered the bodies of five fishermen who had drowned after their trawler capsized in the Meghna Friday.
The deceased were identified as Prodip Chandra Das, 51, Ratan Chandra Das, 48, Ramesh Chandra Das, 44, Jagannath Chandra Das, 51, and Dinesh Chandra Das, 40. All of them hail from.
The boat capsized Friday evening with 11 on board. Three of them managed to swim ashore and three are still missing.
Local fishermen recovered the five bodies yesterday evening from the river near Kazi Bazar, he added.
