Kyiv says Iran is supplying drones to Moscow for its airstrikes, but Tehran says it sent drones to Russia for the last time before the start of the war.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said in a Friday morning report that Russia had carried out 85 missile strikes, 35 airstrikes and 63 from multiple rocket-launch systems over the past 24 hours.
It said Moscow’s forces also shelled 20 settlements around the city of Bakhmut in eastern Ukraine, where some of the fiercest fighting is ongoing, and more than 25 settlements in the Kherson and Zaporizhia regions.
Reuters could not immediately verify the reports from the battlefield.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Thursday’s massive airstrike caused power outages in most areas.
Zelensky said areas where the power loss was “particularly hard” included the capitals Kyiv, Odessa and Kherson in the south and surrounding areas, and Lviv near the western border with Poland.
