Finally High Court has issued a show cause notice asking authority why it will not issue an order to compensate the families of the students who went out to offer Shab-e-barat prayer and beaten to death by a mob.
National Forum for Protection of Human Rights secretary general Tajul Islam filed a writ petition to High Court referring this incident. In response to his petition High Court has issued the notice to the home secretary, inspector general of police, Dhaka Metropolitan Police commissioner, deputy commissioner, police superintendent of Dhaka and officers-in-charge of Savar and Ashulia police stations. They have to reply within 10 days why High Court will not give an order to compensate the families of the six students.
Some local people suspected them as dacoits, but there is no single record of involving crime by them. ‘After the incident police is trying to establish them as dacoits’, allegation raised by the relatives of the victims.
Some analysts say, people can’t keep faith on the judicial system and the police at all because of their poor performances, this is why frequently they take law in hand and this type of accident happens.
